I was 15 years old when I first picked up my dad’s camera and discovered my passion for documenting life. I’ve been a photojournalist for 30-plus years. In that time, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel this country and photograph numerous events—from the World Series to the Democratic National Convention—as well as many important figures of our time, including five U.S. presidents and Pope John Paul II.
That said, portraiture is still at the top of my list. For me, a great portrait is more than a pose and a smile. It’s who you are. I enjoy meeting the people I photograph. My philosophy is, the more I know about you—what you love, what you’re passionate about—the better the end result and the more satisfied you will be with your portrait. I like to think that all my subjects have a story. Let me help you tell yours.
